Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

When you visit the site, the following limited data may be processed:

• Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records technical details such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring URL, for security and operational reasons.
• Analytics data (only with your consent). If you accept analytics cookies via our consent banner, Google Analytics collects anonymised information about your interaction with the site — for example which pages you view, your approximate region, and how you arrived.

If you decline cookies, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent to Google.

2. Cookies and consent

We use Google Consent Mode v2. By default, all non-essential cookies are blocked until you make a choice. The first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Only essential storage (security) is set without consent.

You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

3. Third-party services

• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) — measures site traffic. See Google’s privacy policy.
• Pinterest Tag (Pinterest, Inc.) — measures interactions and helps us understand how Pinterest users discover our books. Loaded only after you accept cookies. See Pinterest’s privacy policy.
• Loops(Loops Email, Inc.) — handles our optional email newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address and any data you provide on the signup form are processed by Loops to send you the newsletter, manage your subscription, and measure email engagement. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. See Loops’ privacy policy.
• Amazon.“Buy on Amazon” buttons direct you to amazon.com or your regional Amazon storefront. Once you click through, Amazon’s own privacy policy applies.
• Hosting provider. The site is hosted on Vercel, which records standard server access logs.

4. Newsletter subscription

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide and send it to Loops, which delivers the newsletter on our behalf. We use this email only to send you newsletter content and related updates from Sora Mikami. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. Once you unsubscribe, we stop sending you newsletter emails; Loops may retain a record of the unsubscribe to honor your preference.

5. International transfers

Google Analytics may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses to transfer personal data from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion
• Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time
• Request data portability
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. in the EEA)

7. Data retention

Server logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period (typically up to 30 days). Google Analytics data is retained according to the property’s configured retention window.

8. Children’s privacy

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
